This presentation introduces and defines the notion of humanizing technologies, and outlines the scope of activities related to them. Humanizing technologies by definition are facilitators and enablers that provide better use of ICT applications by humans. This includes natural interfaces – natural language processing, and extends in current days to data integration and analytics, linked data, semantics. Examples will be given, and consequently an account about Mozaika – The Humanizing Technologies Lab – an emerging SME and Research Centre, and discusses the current projects, areas of interest and goals - DaaS, text summarization, dialogue, image and text, multilingual engineering, etc. and their applications in domains such as digital culture, smart cities, industrial investigation, human resource management , cosmic studies, reliability assessment – will be presented. The purpose of the talk is to foster discussion around research and development topics and stimulate collaboration initiatives. |
