Investors and Corporate Partners WEAR Sustain Session during ICT 2018

The objective of the proposed session was to demonstrate the potential of arts and technology collaboration to create new sustainable products and help teams take their projects to market. This was done by supporting some of the best WEAR teams that had been funded to capitalise on their success so far, by pitching to and networking with potential corporate partners, investors and business angels that were expected to attend ICT 2018 or were specially invited to do this session. The session will be entitled “Invest in future sustainable and ethical wearable innovations today”.

The special WEAR Sustain session was organised on 5th of December in Vienna, Austria, as part of the ICT 2018 conference. The session was 1 hour long - including pitches from the teams and Q&A, followed by half an hour of open networking. The 12 most advanced projects from WEAR Sustain Open Calls 1 and 2, who are closest to market, or/and addressed major societal problems, were invited to pitch in front of a jury invited by the WEAR Sustain consortium). The International Jury nominated 2 teams in the following 2 categories:

1) 'Best Wear Sustain Product';

2) 'Best Wear Sustain Project addressing societal challenges'.

Both awards were given to the MOGU Leather team.

All 46 WEAR sustain teams were invited to attend this special ICT 2018 networking session. The session was promoted through the WEAR sustain, STARTS, and Vertigo networks (more than 15,000 contacts) and through the Digital Single Market Commission network.
